¶ Intro
VsFTPd is a GPL licensed FTP server for UNIX systems, including Linux. It is secure and extremely fast. It is stable. Don’t take my word for it, though. Below, we will see evidence supporting all three assertions. We will also see a list of a few important sites which are happily using vsftpd. This demonstrates vsftpd is a mature and trusted solution.

Despite being small for purposes of speed and security, many more complicated FTP setups are achievable with vsftpd! By no means an exclusive list, vsftpd will handle:
- Virtual IP configurations
- Virtual users
- Standalone or inetd operation
- Powerful per-user configurability
- Bandwidth throttling
- Per-source-IP configurability
- Per-source-IP limits
- IPv6
- Encryption support through SSL integration
- etc.
¶ Installing VsFTPd
- Navigate to the Application Manager page and search for
vsftpd. - Click icon to open the installation window and tap Install to start the installation process.
- Once the installation is complete, click icon to open the Access Info page. Then use an FTP client to connect to the FTP server using the provided information.

¶ Troubleshooting
¶ Error: 421 X users (the maximum) are already logged in
This error occurs when the maximum number of allowed concurrent connections has been reached.
Resolution:

Reinstall the ftp application (pureftpd) from your dashboard with the following options:
- Enable
Clear Appdata - Increase
Max Concurrent Connections(set it higher than the default 6)

Once the installation is complete, download the updated FTP configuration and reconnect.
Notes:
If the installation fails, retry 1–2 more times before contacting support.
Installation may fail if the system is unable to allocate the required ports. Increasing the maximum concurrent connections requires more ports, which can increase the likelihood of installation failure. So, always try to set the number as low as possible.
